Mosunmola Dosunmu is an experienced community pharmacist of over 23yrs. The host and producer of a public health initiative in Nigeria. And a member of international menopause society
Everythhing we do on this blog is dedicated to the subject matter of Menopause and Andropause ( Menopause in men ). We address all aspects of Menopause / Andropause related issues , diet , nutrition , wellness and psychology.
My role basically is to assist women going through menopause.
In 2017, my life changed significantly , i was weary , hurting and depressed i was no longer interested in things that excite me. I used to take it out on my 9yrs old son . One day my son told me i needed to seek for help. And then i realised i was going through depression. I was gaining weight despite my strict diet : PERIMENOPAUSE had ensured.
Two years after , one evening i noticed a big round thing moving in my stomach i was scared and overwhelmed as typical of any Nigerian woman i went on my knees and prayed to God to help me. I thought it was stomach cancer. The fear gripped me so much that i could not speak to any one. I decided to pray and watch over my system. I changed my diet , through out that week i was feeding on fluids and i execised each day by walking for 1hr.
By the end of that week my system had changed. The ball like thing had dissappeared i had lost weight and all fears gone. Three months after i realised i couldnt eat as i used to. Anytime i take heavy food i feel much pain in my stomach. This lead me to pay a good attention on my system. I realised my system had changed.
Few months after , i woke up with a keratinised skin !!
This gave me a deeper thought i needed to find out what was going on in my system. Then i started a study on what could be responsible for that keratinised skin.i discovered its one of the signs of perimenopause.
Just last year i started experiencing night sweats , hot flashes joint pains and inflammation.
Very few people prepare for this stage of life .
It has taken me 7 good years of systematic change.
I Changed my diet , incorporated meditation and power of confession ( speaking to my body ) motivational reading , exercise and the use of specific suppliments.
Over time i became the go – to source for women and men s issues in my family and social network.
That was the route i took to learn everything there is to know about transformational body change. I am still learning though. I chose to join Menopause experts since no body should face this transition alone or allow it to be a difficult time.
I’m eager to provide training and raise awareness in corporate settings and our communities.
With alot of awareness we can reach as many men and women in our nation regardless of their finantial situation.we all deserve to get through this time of our life so that it isnt something we dread or fear but rather something thrilling
I Discovered that with great knowledge this stage of life can be well managed. Menopause is not a form of sickness nor disease .its a stage of life where you need to live smarter. There is no cure for menopause it can be managed . Its just a natural occurrence.
